Background/Overview Presently (Oct 2026), the TNG_coGenWeb community consist of three counties (TXFannin, MSHolmes, and TXDelta). There are also 2 sites that are strictly not TNG sites (TXDelta-Library and Willow-Wild). Although not TNG sites their structure is based on the TNG structure. The content of a TNG site is database centric. All content resides in tables and records of a database. The site's file structure uses PHP, JavaScript, CSS, JSON, and mySQL programming languages. Each site's structure is based on a main site domain and an admin subdomain used to facilitate the maintenance of the main site content. The dataTables API is used extensively for retrieval and formatting of selected records from the database. The API is used in both the main and admin areas. All sites are hosted on a dedicated VPS (Virtual Private Server) HostGator server. A file and database backup service is provided by CodeGuard. The cPanel interface is used to manage all aspects for each hosted domain. All usernames and passwords needed for access to each of the domains are contained in the Hit By a Bus document controlled by the TNG webmaster. If you haven't already been granted permission, you will be soon. Although not required, the IDE (Integrated Development Environment) I use, and illustrate in this book, is Microsoft's vsCode, Window's version. Again, not required, is the FTP (File Transfer Protocol) software used, FileZilla. The following chapters will detail multiple areas for the TNG system. The inter workings of the vsCode IDE and some extensions I find very helpful. Details related to FileZilla setup for a site. The various parts of the cPanel necessary to implement and maintain a TNG site.
